Support yourself, support Debian
If you like our service, we hope you’ll want to tell others about it. You can create “referrer links” from your own sites which tell us who referred a particular person to our site. Then if someone that you’ve referred signs up to our service, you can choose either:
- to earn a monthly discount on your subscription, from £1.50 to £10 per month, for as long as the customer stays a customer;
- for us to make a larger one-off donation to the Debian project as a result of a new sign-up, between £7 and £45.
The Debian Project is a group of worldwide volunteers who have toiled for around fifteen years to produce a solid, stable and reliable GNU/Linux distribution which we use every day. If you use Debian on your Virtual Machine you’ll already appreciate its benefits. We are not affiliated with Debian but have started this scheme to give back to a project which has helped us immensely.
N.B. These discounts and donations do not affect any discounts we may give to authors of free software.
How much you get back (or we give to Debian)
| Virtual Machine Spec | Monthly discount | One-off Debian donation |
| 80MB | £1.50 | £7 |
| 160MB | £2.50 | £12 |
| 240MB | £2.50 | £12 |
| 320MB | £5.00 | £22 |
For monthly discounts, we will apply the relevant credit to the referer’s account every month until they have earned a month’s free hosting, offer a refund in the event they cancel their service, or provide their machine gratis in the event that their discount equals or exceeds their monthly payment to us.
