There are three services which relate to internet domains:
- Domain name registration – paying an annual fee for your unique name on the internet. You can do this with Bytemark’s control panel.
- Content DNS service – maps the names you’ve paid for onto your servers.
- Resolving DNS service – every server on our network talks to our resolvers in order to look up names (this is usually invisible!).
We’ve also written an article on How DNS works to introduce these different concepts.
